Introduction: My 8 years experience involves mainly working as an Oracle DBA that was responsible for working with a Fortune 500 Data Warehouse. I was involved with supporting the Warehouse design, generating Cognos reports and testing Cube development. I am looking for a position as a Senior Cognos Developer in the California area.
Recent Projects:
Project 1.
Responsible for Oracle 9i upgrade to 10g sizing around 300GB running on Solaris server for a Fortune 500 company.
• Database upgrade, and performance tuning
• Data Mart creation, data repository/metadata creation/management
• Database Backup/Recovery strategy/Planning
• Cognos 8 BI Server, Framework Manager installation and data modelling
• Reports design/development using Cognos Query Studio and Report Studio, add/manage/schedule tasks using Event Studio
Project 2.
Responsible for administering multiple Oracle 9i production databases, which were around 5TB running on Compaq Alpha servers using Compaq TRU64 Unix. Managed 7 Oracle development instance on Compaq Tru64 Alpha servers and 2 Oracle 9i instances on Sun Solaris servers.
• Database Performance Tuning
• Datawarehouse management (i.e. data profiling, data quality metrics, cleansing, transformation, mapping and loading into multiple targets)
